In a week, Diablo III sold 6.3 million copies

United States - Diablo III just carve the record for the biggest-selling computer game. How not? Within a week the long awaited game that sold 6.3 million copies. Wow!

"We are thrilled to see so many players around the world are eager to buy a copy of Diablo III shortly after launch," said Mike Morhaime, Blizzard's Chief Executive Officer in a statement received detikINET, Thursday (05/24/2012).



Diablo III, go on sale on May 15, 2012 at a price of about USD 60 for Windows and Mac versions. The first day of the launch of this game has recorded sales of 3.5 million copies, and within a week the number had risen to 6.3 million copies. Number does not include distributions that are made via the Word of Warcraft reaches 1.2 million copies.

But because it was so popular, Diablo III server was paralyzed for a while. Ironically, this incident happened in the first day of the launch of the game.

"We regret not doing a good preparation and comfort of millions of players resulting in impaired Diablo III. However, we remain committed to providing the best gaming experience for all," added Morhaime.

Not much different from the previous version which was launched 12 years ago. Diablo III will bring players into a fantasy world inhabited by various kinds of monsters. There are five types of playable characters here, and all have a unique range of skills.
