United States - After experiencing a fairly complicated process of debate between Blizzard with Valve, now the two sides finally reached the meeting point. The trial ruled that Valve has the right to commercialize the name of DoTA.
Quite a long time indeed two sides are fighting each other demands as DoTA name products. No wonder really, considering that DoTA is one of the most widely played game strategy and potentially gain benefit from its creator.
DoTA itself was developed by a community based on Warcraft III, a strategy game released by Blizzard in 2002. DoTA was quickly seized the attention of many gamers and has since become the most frequently played strategy games in recent years.
Seeing so many players and loyal community, Valve decided to work on the DoTA to a more serious, namely the change as an online game that can gain the advantage. Seeing this, Blizzard is not willing to feel they have the right to name and make DoTA dicatut lawsuit.
As quoted from Eurogamer, Monday (5/14/2012), the two parties has now reached agreement on behalf of DoTA chaotic. Valve is now entitled to use the name DoTA-commercial use, while Blizzard retains rights to the DoTA are made based on Warcraft III.
Blizzard is too busy making 'DoTA' online version were forced to back down, the game will be renamed to Blizzard All Star.
"We are pleased the two sides have reached an agreement. We both want to focus on the things that our fans want, which is creating a game that is able to satisfy every community," said Gabe Newell Valve one boss.
